Let me admit that I did not purchase this because of the whitening claim as I hardly believe that these creams are capable of doing that.  All the effects of such creams last only for some hours and this day crème from Lakme is no different. This cream comes in a tub similar to their night cream and is travel friendly until you break the screw cap. Yes, I broke mine when I was trying to close the lid, a little extra pressure and it cracked from several places. I wonder if only I faced such an issue. Anyway, the cream has a mild floral fragrance which should not bother sensitive noses. The texture is smooth and a little thick but it blends well into the skin. It is more on the matte side than being creamy.

Coming to the effects, this cream gives a smooth matte finish to the skin but only for about 3-4 hours after which my T-zone starts getting oily again. It is definitely not meant for dry skinned beauties as it does not moisturize the skin at all. It does brighten the complexion but the effects are temporary.  I have been using this for the past one month but I have not noticed any change that this cream has brought about on my face, not even one. It is best suited for oily-skinned beauties who want an instant bright matte finish and are not looking for any long-term benefits.

I recommend this to oily-skinned beauties who are simply looking for an instant bright matte finish. If you are looking for any more than that, then I suggest you invest in some good day cream.
